Why do Quest Bars have so few carbs while other nutrition bars have so many carbs?
As most people know, if you want to stay healthy, lose fat or build LEAN, low-fat muscle, you must control your carb intake. That’s why we’ve worked so hard to create bars with so few grams of active carbohydrates. We had to create a process so unique that we protected it by filing a patent. That’s why you won’t see any other bars like ours on the market – Quest is the first truly low carb bar with no simple carbs. A perfect meal in your pocket!
Why Quest Bar?
20-21g of protein from a blend of Whey Protein Isolate and Milk Protein Isolate to support muscle growth. Protein also helps curb your cravings.
Each Quest Bar contains only 2-7g net carbs.
Soluble Corn Fiber
In order for a Quest Bar to be usable as a complete meal, we wanted to ensure that they contained enough fiber to really matter. Almost every ounce of carbohydrate in our bars comes from fiber to help you feel satisfied and keep active carbs at a minimum.
Based on analysis of recent scientific literature, consulting with fiber experts and our own experience, we’ve decided to modify the formula for our protein bars using soluble corn fiber. We knew doing so would be more expensive, it would require reinventing our manufacturing process all over again, and it would be risky to make a change to a recipe that so many of you already know and love… but after careful consideration, we decided the metabolic benefits of soluble corn fiber outweighed the cost to make this upgrade a reality. (And not to worry – soluble corn fiber has nothing in common with corn syrup other than the fact that they both come from corn!)
No Sugar Added
Some Quest bars are sweetened with Lo Han Guo and Sucralose. Lo Han Guo is a plant that’s been used as sweetener in China for over 1,000 years. It only takes a TINY amount as it’s 300 times sweeter than sugar. Sucralose is recognised as the best artificial sweeter available, but it’s over 600 times sweeter than sugar so it’s used in almost microscopic amounts.
Some are sweetened with Stevia and Erythritol. Stevia is a herb in the Chrysanthemum family, the glycosides in its leaves account for its sweetness and it has been used as a sweetener in many countries for many years. While Erythritol is classified as a sugar alcohol it is ENTIRELY different than all of the others. It does not cause the same intestinal discomfort common in other sugar alcohols and has very low calories per gram.
